VMBackup

Description

This utility will backup a VMWare Server, VMWare Workstation, VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox Virtual Machine either locally or remotely.

Supported Virtual Machine software and environments

This utility runs on Unix/Linux/Mac OSX operating systems running VMware Server 1.0, VMware Server 2.0 Beta, VMware Workstation, VMware Fusion (command line only) and VirtualBox (Only supported in the new unstable release).

Features

  • Allows backups and restores via the command line or by a point and click Wizard
  • Designed to be run automatically using the standard Unix/Linux cron and at commands
  • All options are selectable from the command line, no editing of text files or scripts required
  • Supports Multiple archive formats: Unix Tar uncompressed or compressed with gzip or bzip2, Windows Zip archives, CD/DVD ISO Images and plain directory replication.
  • Supports both hot (Using VMware or LVM snapshots) and cold backups
  • Can backup to remote Unix/Linux computer systems using using standard ssh protocol
